Merici College operates a uniform shop on the school premises. The shop is located at Merici College, 99 Limestone Avenue, Braddon. All uniform items are supplied to the College by PSW. THE MERICI UNIFORM IS NOT BE DEFACED IN ANY WAY AT ANY TIME.

HAIR is to be tidy at all times. Extreme styles and colour changes are not acceptable. It is recommended hair below shoulders be tied back.
MAKE-UP is to be discreet and nail polish is to be of neutral shade. While at school, the only alternative clothing, which should be worn, is the sports uniform for PE and Dance and correct attire for Hospitality.
JEWELLERY Students may wear a simple ring, bracelet, a silver or gold chain necklace, and a maximum of two pairs of small sleeper/studs in the lobe of the ear only.
Ribbons and scarves to be in school colours.
NO OTHER ITEMS OR PIERCINGS ARE PERMITTED and students will be asked to remove these.
Parents will be contacted if uniform breaches are persistent.

Please note that the shop is cashless. Payments can be made by EFTPOS or on student ID cards.

New Uniform Transition

The transition to new items of school uniform has now been completed. All pre-2020 uniform items are void. This includes PE sports polos and tracksuits.

Blazers

Blazers are available from our College uniform shop. Previously purchased blazers from the former manufacturer will still be permitted to be worn through to the end of 2024. However, all students are required to purchase the new styled PSW blazer. The blazer is a compulsory uniform item in Terms 2 and 3 to and from school.The blazer is also to be worn at significant school events throughout the year.  It is an optional item in Terms 1 and 4. The school jumper and/or vest are additional clothing items for extra warmth.

Puffer Jacket

The Puffer jacket is available for purchase at the Uniform Shop. This is an optional uniform item which DOES NOT replace the school blazer. Students are allowed to wear the puffer jacket during school hours.

Co-curricular Sport Hoodie

The co-curricular hoodie is not to be worn during school hours and is not part of the uniform. The hoodie can be worn to co-curricular sports and training. If worn at school, this item will be confiscated until the end of the school day.

Undergarments

Undershirts are not to be visible or be worn under short sleeve shirts.

Uniform requirements for Years 11 and 12

  • Pleated navy skirt regulation length and style – knee length or below knee
  • College white blouse
  • Opaque black tights or plain white fold-over ankle socks or higher
  • Sturdy lace-up plain black polishable leather school shoes which cover the whole foot (no Mary-Jane style shoes, no ballet slippers, no heels greater than 4cm and no backless shoes, no buckles, no boots).
  • Ribbons and scarves to be in school colours (navy gold, maroon, black, white)

 

 

  • Same as Summer uniform plus Merici navy vest or pullover
  • Opaque black tights
  • College blazer (compulsory) to be worn to and from the College.
  • Puffer jacket (optional item which DOES NOT replace the school blazer. Students are allowed to wear the puffer jacket during school hours.

School Shoes

For Workplace Health and Safety reason, school shoes must be lace up polishable black leather, cover the whole foot and have a sole with a minimum thickness at the front of 1cm and at the bacvk have heel height no higher than 4cm. No Mary-Jane styles, trendy skate wear, canvas think soled shoes, or shoes with buckles are acceptable at any time. As in previous years, Merici College participates in the Athlete's Foot Canberra School Rewards Program.
